What do the psoas, diaphragm, and mesentery have in common? They sit at the centre of how we move, breathe, and feel.
When restrictions in the deep core go unaddressed, they can affect everything from hip mobility and breath function to visceral health and emotional regulation.
In this advanced masterclass, Steven Goldstein brings over 30 years of fascia-focused clinical insight to the body’s Deep Front Line (DFL)—guiding you through a layered approach to psoas work, diaphragmatic release, and visceral integration.
Through a blend of direct and indirect myofascial technique, visceral touch, and breath-based interventions, you’ll learn how to access the deepest structural and emotional holding patterns in the body.

Course Overview
This course focuses on the anatomy, function, and fascial connections of the psoas and diaphragm, and how they interrelate with the viscera, spine, and emotional tone of the body. You’ll work with key anatomical structures in the DFL, exploring their relationship to breathing, movement, and nervous system regulation.
The training includes a strong theoretical foundation drawn from Bruno Bordoni’s diaphragm research, Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) models, and somato-emotional frameworks. It’s woven with hands-on applications that bridge anatomy and interoception, tensegrity and tone, mechanics and meaning.
What You’ll Learn
- DFL anatomy and core fascial relationships, including how the psoas, diaphragm, colon, and mesentery interact
- Visceral techniques for the mesentery, colon (Toldt’s fascia, sigmoid flexure, illeocecal valve), and umbilical fulcrum
- Fascial Therapy (FT) techniques: ease-bind assessment, tensegrity-based loading, and rebound/recoil response in the abdomen
- Joint integration: pubic symphysis, adductors, fibular head, and centric positioning of the femoral head
- Breath and diaphragm release strategies, informed by Bordoni, brainstem control models, and vagal anatomy
- Interoception and somato-emotional perspectives, including emotional anatomy (Keleman), Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen’s movement work, and Upledger’s SER model
- Practical breathing interventions, with over 20 diaphragmatic exercises for clinical use
- Chapman Reflexes and FT applications in the vertebral-costal region
Who This Course Is For
- This course is designed for experienced practitioners who want to:
- Deepen their understanding of the DFL and its influence on core function, visceral tone, and breath
- Work safely and effectively with abdominal structures, diaphragm, and viscera in a fascia-informed way
- Support clients dealing with chronic restriction, emotional tension, digestive dysfunction, or unresolved postural imbalance
- Bridge structural integration with nervous system literacy and somatic awareness
- Perfect for structural integrators, fascia-focused manual therapists, and advanced bodyworkers seeking a deeper toolkit for working with the body’s centre.
Why This Work Matters
The psoas and diaphragm are more than just anatomical structures—they’re gateways into our breath, posture, emotional holding, and sense of safety. Through their fascial, neurological, and visceral relationships, they form a core system that touches nearly every dimension of wellbeing.
This course helps you access that system with confidence—through clear clinical strategy, sensitive touch, and techniques that support the body’s intelligence, rather than override it.
Don’t Miss Out
This is a rare chance to study in person with Steven Goldstein. His work has influenced thousands of therapists across the world. Steven rarely teaches in the UK, and when he does, his courses tend to fill fast.
Each training is intentionally kept small to ensure high-quality, hands-on learning and plenty of one-to-one feedback. You won’t be lost in a crowd—you’ll be seen, supported, and guided through techniques you can immediately integrate into your practice.
Spaces are limited for this hands-on training. Book before 31 May 2025 using code EARLYBIRDSG to save 10%. A payment plan is available and you can secure your place with a 50% deposit now and pay the rest on the 1st September 2025 – we’ll send you a reminder with a payment link closer to the date.
