Jan Cafearo has been practising Bowen Therapy from her Shropshire clinic since 2006. With a rich background in physiotherapy and a diverse career in health and wellbeing, Jan brings a wealth of knowledge and a holistic approach to her practice. Her dedication to Bowen Therapy is evident in her continuous pursuit of learning and her passion for helping others.

Teaching Philosophy and Approach
Jan qualified as a physiotherapist in 1981 but soon realised that the NHS’s fast-paced environment didn’t allow her to provide the holistic care she valued. This led her to explore various roles in health and wellbeing, teaching, and environmental education. Her journey included work in physiotherapy, breastfeeding support, food intolerance, English language instruction, forest bathing, and nature connection for wellbeing.
Then, after years as a full-time mum, she witnessed a friend recover from severe Carpal Tunnel Syndrome with three Bowen treatments, something her physiotherapy background told her was impossible. Intrigued, she booked on the next course and became absolutely hooked. She is still amazed by Bowen’s sheer effectiveness and feels proud to pass on her passion for this skill.
